Farewell, Speakeasy

Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, one of San Francisco’s first post-prohibition breweries, has “ceased operations indefinitely.” I’m sad to see it go. I feel for the┬ápeople who worked there. I’ve drank a lot of Speakeasy at a lot of bars, and this brand will forever evoke a more optimistic, new-to-Norcal time in my life. And if you don’t think Payback Porter was a good beer, I’m not sure what to tell you.

Here are some photos from a trip to Speakeasy in 2010.

Back alive, with an interesting new East Bay owner.

I’ll try to link an interview in the website field.
